Tigerlight has been selected as the supplier of choice to provide LED lighting for Covalent Lithium’s new, world-class lithium refinery in Kwinana, 35km south of Perth.
Covalent Lithium Pty Ltd, is the managing company appointed by joint venture partners, Wesfarmers Limited and Sociedad Química y Minera de Chile S.A. (SQM), to develop and operate an end-to-end lithium hydroxide business.
In addition to the Kwinana refinery, the business is constructing a mine and concentrator at Mt Holland, WA.
When complete, the refinery will have the capacity to produce 50,000 tonnes of lithium hydroxide per year – enough to create approximately 1 million electric vehicles.
Tigerlight will supply over 3,000 customised LED luminaires to construction and engineering giant, Civmec, who are constructing the 40-hectare Kwinana site.
Approximately half of the luminaires are customised to feature specific colour powder coating colours, flex lengths, terminations and optics, with many luminaire being emergency models.
Lighting Specialists Australia completed the lighting plans for the project and identified Tigerlight as a compliant solution amongst other LED providers.
Tigerlight was selected to supply all non-hazardous industrial lighting in the refinery.
“To deliver the best result for Covalent and Civmec, we needed to customise our luminaires to deliver not only the best lighting outcomes but to ensure ease of installation and ongoing scheduled maintenance,” said Tigerlight General Manager Daniel Gleeson.
“As a solutions-focused lighting company, we believe customising proven luminaires to individual site-specific requirements is what our customers appreciate and increasingly expect”.
The lighting supplied to the site consists of Mako conveyor/gantry lights, bulkheads, area flood lighting and a range of customised industrial bay lights.
